"Wars do not solve problems, they merely create new ones"
Let me break this down: the first half of the quote says "wars do not solve problems" while it is true that almost all problems cannot be solved with violence, especially when it results in loss of life, war seems inevitable in human nature. War has been around as long as us. While many people believe it should be possible for people to talk things out (me included) it seems unavoidable. Using WWII as an example, when one person uses force to get what they want whether it is land, to prove a point or whatever other motives people may have, violence on such a scale as this with leaders such as Hitler make it at the least near impossible to respond without violence. While it is true that war or any violence for that matter should not be used to get what one wants that exactly the problem: SHOULD, as I said previously war seems to be ingrained into human nature, it seems almost inevitable, but in saying that people must always look to a peaceful resolution before resorting to any other method.
The second part of this quote is the part a agree with a lot more; wars create many, many problems all around the world regardless of who is involved. Wars result in great economical and personal cost to countries, people are killed and wounded, and often are mentally scarred even if they aren't physically hurt in any way, families lose loved ones, and if the war is happening where they live they lose their home, and are forced to run or be in further danger. The government of any country involved lose a very large amount of money to the war as they must pay for weapons, general supplies and other military gear such as vehicles. On top if the military cost they must also do their best to keep civilians well fed and with a roof over their heads.
